  1. I never knew the reason that these four presidents were chosen. I thought the information given was nice.

  2. I like how the group introduced the presidents that are sculpted. Also, I learned background information about the four presidents on what they did for the Amercia. Overall, I believe the group did a great job.

  3. The presentation was well organized the only thing that i could see of being help is to shortening the slides to bullets and going from there on strictly remembrance, but over all very good presentation. I never knew the reason this mountain was chosen until now.

  4. I liked your presentation. It was well thought out and all your points were explained well. It would have been nice to see your personal opinion on the monument though.

  5. They did a good job of describing the reason why those four people were choosen to be depicted. I learned that it represents a span of 130 years of history. One thing that they could have done better is not read from the slides as much word for word, other than that good presentation.

  6. I really liked the information given as to why the presidents were chosen. I never knew the reason. Something that could be changed was that there was a lot of word for word reading from the powerpoint.

  7. I was surprised by the fact that the sculptor thought of it as a symbol of white supremacy. I also liked where you gave information about each president's accomplishments. I think that you read off of the slides to much and did not make enough eye contact, but other than that I thought that it was a good presentation.

  8. The part in your presentation about the sculpter thinking that the monument stood for the triumph of anglo-americans was very interesting. I went to go see Mount Rushmore and had a tour guide tell us about the monument. They never mentioned this, probably because its not the best outlook on it. No wonder the Native American were so against it being built!

  9. I thought it was very interesting to learn about how the sculptor had been fired from another sculpting project and that he wasn't some prestigious sculptor who was perfect in every aspect. I also thought it was cool how he said the rock was too perfect for anything but a US president to be put on display there.
I would say that making the presentation a little more presonal with the audience would be a good improvement.

  10. My favorite part of Mount Rushmore is the fact that it was created by both the sculptor and his son.Teddy Roosevelt is the best, (not an opinion) and I find it interesting that they would deface Indian territory with four presidents.

  11. It was surprising to learn how unlikable the sculptor of this monument was. It's an eye opener to see what's behind such a prominent American icon like this. I think the presentation had a lot of good detailed information. The only thing that I would recommend is a bit more condensed text on the slides and more images to illustrate the material.

  12. I liked the points of why each president's face is included in the Monument, and what the sculptors' reasoning behind wanting to build this Monument was. I never put any thought into the fact about them all Anglo-Saxons in power, dominating, and How closle in time the Crazy Horse Monument was built to it. i think that this point could have been in the presentation, and made for a good controversy, but really good job!

  14. The things you learn without expecting it, I never knew why each president was chosen until now, always figured Washington and Lincoln definitely should be chosen as well as Jefferson I guess. Teddy just seemed odd man out in that regard until really thought on. Only thing I found wrong was reading slides word for word.

  15. The information in this project was really good. It hit on different aspects that are easily overlooked. I learned that the presidents were chosen because they followed the manifest destiny and the creator of Mount Rushmore was associated with the KKK. The only constructive criticism I have is to maybe not read the slides word for word. A few more run throughs of the presentation probably would have helped to make it go a lot smoother.

  17. I thought it was interesting that the creater of this monument had his first sculpture blown off another mountain and also that only the presidents were worthy of being carved onto the mountain.

  18. l liked this presentation. They kept me interested the whole time. I never really knew why each of the presidents were chose for the monument.

I thought they needed to clarify some of the information a little more.
