I believe this is important because it sums up the whole chapter. Chapter 17 focused on the growth of the film industry and how they learned from the mistakes made by others. Heaven's Gate vs. Evan Almighty is the big example used in the chapter. Heaven's Gate was a complete failure and a big loss on money that ended the director's career, while Evan Almighty was not a big box office hit like expected it did almost end up breaking even. Universal studios did not fail because of this film they just moved on to make more movies.
