  1. You had a good presentation. It was smart to pass out additional information about Vega because it is such a big topic.

  3. I really like your presentation and i liked how you gave out a handout. I wish that you would have talked more about the attractions there though.

  5. I learned that in 1931 gambling became legal in Nevada. The best part of the presentation was when you said that it had to do with the mobs. You connected it well with the cycle. Couldnt have been better!

  6. You guys did a great job with this presentation. You took the view of Las Vegas to a whole other level by not just focusing on the gambling side, but also talked about the cycle theory and tied in the American Dream. Pretty much everything we went over in class was put into your presentation and thats seems like it was exactly how Dr. Lohre wanted it. You guys did a great job of asking questions and then giving your interpretation of the answer. The only thing I would change, is that it seemed like Josh talked a lot more than Susan. Maybe it was just how I interpreted it, but either way it was a great presentation. I did not know that there was a law that forbid the Hoover Dam workers from going to Vegas, I thought that was a pretty cool fact. Good job Susan and Josh!

  7. Your presentation was very well organized making It pretty straightforward, also you guys did a good job speaking to the class. I've always wondered why Las Vegas is called sin city that was my favorite thing to learn. so it was really good overall but the only thing that could've been better was your conclusion. Great Job!

  8. Great presentation! Very well organized and well paced. Both of you were easy to understand and kept my attention throughout the presentation. I liked that you didn't put a lot of words on the slides and included a lot of pictures.

  9. Watching your presentation on Vegas was very historical, and a lot about what Vegas was and still is. I did wish that some information about what is there today or places to go there.

  10. This was a great presentation. You did a very good job of picking a topic and focus for your presentation rather than just talking about the place like some groups did. You also did a great job connecting to the themes we've been talking about in class.

  11. As Dr. Lohre said best "I have no intentions of going." but to see how great the place is would defiantly be a sight to see if you were just passing through.

  13. Great presentation, maybe talk about how the water/river tied into it more, Pr. Lohre talked about it at the end. Also I liked that you had a pass out, but it had too much on it I think. Short bullet points would have been better. Overall this was one of my favorite prestnations though, I liked learning about hte history of "Sin City"!

  14. The information was very thorough. I didn't realize how unlikely of a place Las Vegas was or is. It's crazy that it may not be completely sustainable, because of where it's at geographically. I thought the handouts were a great touch too.

  15. I thought the history of how Vegas was started was very interesting, and I wonder if it will one day fall because of the water supply. It seems like everything today is trying to make it family related, for kids. I dont know if this is a good thing or not, but great presentation! I don't think we wer suppose to introduce with " Our presentation is" but most everyone did.
