Not-This-Pig

"The difference was this: the old AT&T had pledged to operate as a public trust, and was good at its word. The new AT&T had no such aspirations." -p244

The new chairman in the 90's of the Bell company, only wanted to bring AT&T back on top for his own financial reasons. He wanted to make money. He didn't share Vails public interest vision what so ever. I think that is how all of todays businesses are run, including the government. When corporations are so huge it is hard to stop them from keeping all the power especially when they are working together to keep it. It is sad that our government is allowing this to happen for their own benifit. It is also sad that we the people are also letting them do it.

  1. It really bothers me when someone disregards their original motives for money. Big companies like AT&T especially bother me.

  3. I agree. No surprise to me. It is pretty bad that corporations can get so big that they posses most of, if not, all of the power.

  5. I think it is true what people say about money; it is the root of almost all evil, because of peoples greed for it.
