About Me

My name is Amanda Alaura. I am from Chesterville, OH. I have two sisters and one brother, one of my sisters being my twin. I am going to school for business, but am not sure of my exact major yet.

My Poem took a little time, just because I couldn't figure out who I wanted to write about. I kept switching people, but ended up writing about my very first best friend, who Im not very close to any more. It made me realize how much fun those days were and how much I miss it.

When I think of "The American Dream", I think of wealth. Everyone wants to be wealthy, and here in America the Dream is to be able to work your way to the top, even with out money in your background, and raising a family at the same time. I think that specifics of American's Dreams vary individually and by generations, but I think wealth has been and always will be the main factor.

  1. It's good to know that I am not the only one who hasn't fully decided on their major yet. It's tough trying to figure out how I want to spend the rest of my life.

I like your definition of the American Dream. Most people don't like to emphasize the importance of money, but it is definitely the driving force of the American Dream. Do you think it is possible for someone to be an example of the American Dream realized without ending up with a lot of wealth?
